Kurdish iGaming LQA Across Sorani, Zazaki, Badini and Kurmanji
How Ziman Agency supported a confidential iGaming client with Kurdish linguistic quality assessment, dialect-specific review, reviewer explanations, back translations, and follow-up validation across multiple Kurdish varieties.
Project Overview
Ziman Agency supported a confidential iGaming client with Kurdish Linguistic Quality Assessment across multiple Kurdish varieties. The project involved reviewing translated iGaming and player-facing content, completing structured LQA assessment forms, and providing clear explanations for language, terminology, dialect, and fluency issues.
The total scope included 8 LQA assessment tasks: 1 Sorani assessment, 1 Zazaki assessment, 5 Badini assessments, and 1 Kurmanji assessment. The work was completed over approximately two weeks and coordinated by one project manager, with support from three Kurdish linguists and two additional reviewers.
The project required careful handling because the content included iGaming terminology, betting-related phrasing, player-facing text, and Kurdish variety-specific language decisions.
The Challenge
The client needed clear and reliable LQA feedback for Kurdish iGaming content, while their internal team did not have native speakers for all Kurdish varieties involved. This meant the LQA comments needed to be understandable not only to Kurdish linguists, but also to non-Kurdish-speaking reviewers and project stakeholders.
One key challenge was distinguishing between acceptable variety usage, terminology preference, and actual linguistic errors. In some cases, the review had to explain why a term or phrase was not suitable in context, even if the word itself existed in Kurdish.
Another important challenge was dialect suitability. In some Badini segments, the wider issue was not only individual word choice, but that the sentence or paragraph was written closer to Kurmanji rather than the requested Badini variety.
Our Approach
Ziman Agency assigned linguists with relevant Kurdish variety expertise to complete the LQA assessments according to the client’s instructions, severity levels, and assessment format.
- Reviewing iGaming and player-facing Kurdish translations
- Checking accuracy, terminology, fluency, style, and meaning
- Assessing dialect suitability across Sorani, Zazaki, Badini, and Kurmanji
- Completing structured LQA forms in the client’s required format
- Providing explanations for flagged issues and suggested alternatives
- Adding back translations where helpful for non-Kurdish-speaking reviewers
- Validating queried points with two additional reviewers when needed
When the client requested further clarification on selected LQA comments, Ziman Agency assigned two additional reviewers to re-check the queried segments, validate the feedback, and provide clearer explanations and suggestions.
Key Quality Observations
During the review, the team found that some issues required more than a word-level correction. In several Badini segments, the reviewers observed that the overall phrasing was closer to Kurmanji than Badini, which meant that full sentence or paragraph-level rewriting was more appropriate than small terminology changes.
The reviewers also clarified specific terminology points. For example, some words could exist in Badini but still be unsuitable in a specific context if they did not match the intended English meaning. In other cases, certain forms were not considered natural Badini forms and required correction.
This extra explanation helped the client better understand the reviewer’s reasoning and gave them more context for future updates to their linguistic reference materials.
Follow-up Support
After the initial delivery, the client requested clarification on selected Zazaki and Badini LQA comments. Ziman Agency reviewed the feedback internally and provided updated explanations, corrected severity levels where needed, and additional context on Kurdish variety usage.
For the Badini follow-up, Ziman Agency also prepared an additional reviewer file as extra support. This included suggestions and explanations for all relevant segments, not only the queried items, to make the feedback clearer and more useful for the client’s team.
Outcome
The project was completed successfully across 8 Kurdish LQA assessment tasks. The client received structured assessment forms, follow-up clarification, reviewer explanations, and back translations to support internal decision-making.
The project also demonstrated the importance of working with Kurdish variety specialists, especially when the task involves dialect-sensitive review, iGaming terminology, and reviewer comments intended for a non-native internal team.
Client Feedback
After the project, the client shared positive feedback and confirmed that they were pleased with the work provided. They also noted that they would consider Ziman Agency for future Kurdish LQA projects.
“I can confirm that we were pleased with the work you provided and would definitely consider reaching out with projects in the future.”
Impact
This project helped the client improve the clarity and reliability of Kurdish iGaming localization feedback. By combining linguistic assessment, dialect-specific review, additional reviewer validation, and clear explanations, Ziman Agency helped the client understand not only what needed to be changed, but why those changes mattered.
